Kemira to increase prices for inorganic coagulants in North America

February 23, 2021  By P&PC Staff

Kemira has announced a price increase for inorganic coagulants in North America for customers in its pulp and paper and industry and water segments.

Iron chlorides prices will increase 10 to 20 per cent, iron sulphates will increase three to 10 per cent, and aluminum coagulants will increase three to 10 per cent.

In a statement, the company says the price increase is necessary due to significant increases in market pricing of aluminum and iron feedstocks, and chlor-alkali raw materials impacting inorganic coagulants. Additionally, the cost of moving materials and finished goods via rail continues to escalate.

The price increase will vary by product group and may be significantly higher for specific chemistry and plant locations. The new prices will be effective for all deliveries of the products listed below from Apr. 1 or as contract terms allow.
